David Kirsh has been practicing domestic relations law for the last 25 years. He is admitted to practice by the Illinois and Colorado Supreme Courts.
David began his practice in Chicago in 1980. In 1993 David moved to Colorado , and practiced for a year in Denver before opening his practice in Boulder . In 2004 he established the firm of James, Kirsh, Inness-Brown & Ware, LLC with his partners with the goal of creating Boulder County 's premier domestic relations practice.
David has had an active practice in the domestic relations field, focusing most of his practice in divorce, child custody, support, and pre-nuptial agreements. These fields require skills in negotiation, personal relationships, financial sophistication, appeals and litigation. While David settles nearly all of his cases, he has had hundreds of matters proceed to evidentiary hearings or trials. In only two trials in 25 years did he receive an award for his client of less than his settlement offer, and one of those was reversed on appeal. His view is that, while most cases settle, the specter of litigation is often the most effective tool in arriving at that point.
